Elizabeth Villafranca (Pictured with her Daughter Natalie) – Elizabeth’s leadership to preserve the civil rights of immigrants in Farmers Branch has inspired us all. Her talent for coalition building, grace, composure and peaceful spirit in the face of overwhelming vitriol have inspired the Dallas Peace Center to name her 2007 Peacemaker of the Year.

Dawson Tunnell – Dawson has been the heart of peacemaking in Denton for over four decades, and has already been recognized by the Presbyterian Church for his efforts to promote Peace & Justice. His consistent dedication makes him the recipient of our Lifetime Achievement Award.
Council on American Islamic Relations – (CAIR-DFW) – For years CAIR-DFW has promoted understanding of Muslims through education and by creating dialogue in the community. This year their leadership in bringing to the forefront the incarceration of immigrant children and vigilant advocacy for due process on behalf of the Holy Land Foundation make them our 2007 Peacemaking Organization of the Year.
