Rita Marie Johnson will speak about her role in setting up a national infrastructure of peace. Johnson moved to Costa Rica when she learned that the nation had no army. She founded the Academy for Peace of Costa Rica to pass the message of peace from generation to generation. |

Col. Ann Wright
July 23
Col. Wright is the senior-most U.S. official to publicly resign in protest of the Iraq War. After nearly 20 years of service with the State Department, Wright resigned citing the lack of U.N. support for the Iraq invasion, the lack of effort in Israel-Palestine and North Korea, and the threat to liberties in the U.S. as reasons for her departure. |

Dr. Erica Frank

The August 6 dinner will feature Dr. Erika Frank, president of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR). Dr. Frank, who specializes in preventative medicine, will explore the connections between climate change and global health issues. |
