Freedom in Libya, Syria, Bahrain and Yemen

Day of Prayer for

Freedom in Libya, Syria, Bahrain and Yemen

People of all faiths will come together on Friday, May 6, to offer their prayers and show their support for those people in Libya, Syria, Bahrain and Yemen who continue to struggle for freedom under brutally repressive conditions.

The Day of Prayer will begin in front of the Earle Cabell Federal Building, 1100 Commerce Street, and will continue with the Friday communal jum'ah prayer at Founder's Square, the grassy area at Griffin and Young one block south of the Federal Building.

Speakers, including Rev. L. Charles Stovall, Maulana Shamshad Haider and Rev. Holsey Hickman, will offer prayers to show solidarity with the people in the above mentioned countries in their peaceful struggle for democracy and freedom.

Pastor Ryan Koch, a Dallas Peace Center board member, said, "The American values of peace, dignity, liberty, and freedom are universal values, and Arab people have a right to demonstrate to uphold these universal values."
