Over the past couple of weeks, I am sure the tragic news of
Lawrence "Larry" King's death has resonated within your hearts. A 15 year
old youth who was gunned down because of his sexual orientation, Larry's
life--and, more importantly, the nature of his death--deserves recognition.
While many efforts have been carried out around the country to remember the
circumstances surrounding Larry's death, none have yet to be demonstrated
here in Dallas. Ergo, it is with great honor that I make each of you aware
of a community vigil we are organizing here in Dallas on Sunday, March 9,
2008. The vigil will be held at Cathedral of Hope at 7pm and will include a
memorial walk towards the crossroads at Cedar Springs and Oak Lawn. Of
course, this event is open to the public.

It is our intention to not only observe this tragedy, but it
is also our hope to help raise awareness for the bullying and harassment
LGBT persons endure not only in the public school setting but in the
community at large as well. Together, we hope to facilitate change.
