Rinku Sen, whose Dallas discussion is titled "Why Diversity Does Not Equal Equity: Taking   On Today's Racial Climate" says that too often racism is framed as an individual issue rather than a systemic problem. People who do not harbor racist feelings themselves are often not aware that they are unconsciously living in, and contributing to, a system whose very structure keeps people of color down. Because of this, Sen describes herself as "hard on the problem; soft on the people."
