Olympic Dream for Darfur Torch Relay features a torch that started its journey in Chad, just across the border from Darfur, and will continue to the sites of previous genocides, several cities in the US, and arrive at China's doorstep in December. The intent is to bring attention to China’s complicity in the genocide of Darfur.
Defend Darfur Dallas and the Dallas Holocaust Museum are hosting the Dallas leg of the Olympic Torch Relay. The event will include guest speakers Representative Lon Burnam, Beverly Parkhurst-Moss (author of The Lost Girls of Sudan), Randy Conine (Peace Studies professor at Richland College) and Elliott Dlin (Executive Director of The Holocaust Museum). It will conclude with the torch relay which will start/end at the Holocaust Museum.
